I ordered this as storae for my cast iron plate for my BBQ but alas it was a tad too short. I'll find a use for it. wasn't ruubermaid's fault - mine for not measuring right...that said who makes an 18" X 14" X 2" (can be taller) long plastic storage bin with a lid to store my cast iron plate in?Great to store muffins, cookies and cupcakes! What I like about these:§ These are very useful for keeping larger quantities of food fresh. I am using them to keep healthy, fresh greens fresh a little longer in the refrigerator before they are cooked. Fresh kale, collards, mustard, and turnip greens are some of the healthiest foods in the grocery store. However, they usually have to be cooked within a day or two of buying them or they will go bad. I've found these Rubbermaid containers are the perfect size in which to store and extend the life of the fresh greens. What I do is put down a paper towel in the bottom of the container, add several leaves on top of that, put down another paper towel, then another layer of leaves, etc., end with a paper towel, put the lid on tightly and refrigerate. This extends their life in the refrigerator before cooking by an extra 3 days or so (of course, how recently the greens were cut by the grower is a factor, also).§ I expect these to pay for themselves quickly because I will not be throwing out as many greens as I used to because I didn't cook them soon enough.§ This Rubbermaid container is large - approximately 16 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches - yet it fits nicely on the bottom shelf in my refrigerator, and it's stackable if I want to use more than one. I can also set a few jars of whatever on top of it if my refrigerator is crowded.§ The lid is tight and fits well. (When it first arrived, the lid looked to be slightly warped. But after washing it and using it for a few days, the appearance of a warp was gone.)§ It cleans easily. What I dislike about these:I can't think of anything I dislike about these.A few of the other reviewers mentioned they had trouble getting the stickers off. I didn't have that trouble. I've found that if you will slowly pull up on a sticker at the same time you are pulling back on it, and if you will keep your fingers down close to where the sticker is still stuck to the container, it's much easier to get off.I'm happy with these containers, and I recommend them. Good health and good eating to you.Kept cookies fresh.Had this for 5 years now and it still has a great seal for storing large food items like casseroles. Not the sort of thing you'll have to buy twice :)Highly Recommend.I like the containers, they are as shown, not bulky but would work for a large amount of food to be stored or transported for an event. I have not yet used these ones but I have used similar Rubbermaid food storage products, they are solid and sealed well but they discolored/stained. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and especially able to find a large size like this online, reasonably priced. Thanks!Nice large container. Use for marinating meat. Has a tight lid which is good. Can't go wrong with Rubbermaid.Ordered these to keep baked goods in, as for some reason I can't stop making pumpkin muffins. Not sure that they are air or water tight, but they get the job done for what I need them for. These fit more than a dozen muffins. They are sturdy and close tightly.
