I love these beeswax wraps! They are easy to use and saved us buying plastic bags and wrap. They lasted about a year before starting to lose thier wax coating.I gave them a 4 star because they did pick up stains from a few different foods that could not be removed by washing with soap and water as suggested. Also, I found that they were not a good option for cheeses and bread products. Cheeses tended to mold or become hard after a day or so; bread products also. They don't create the same airtight environment created by plastics or hard containers. That said, I continue to use them for leftovers, produce and as a barrier over bowls and serving plates. I even bought a second set when the first started to wear out.I really enjoy these, get excited when an opportunity arises to use them, and love this option to avoid plastic wrap. So far I have mostly used them directly on food (great for covering half a watermelon) on plastic bowls, or ceramic dishes. Maybe they seal more tightly on glass bowls, but I do have trouble getting the seal really tight. For what I've used them for, this isn't a big deal.I have found them no trouble at all to wash - I wash in warm water, and rinse in cool water, air dry as flat as I can, then fold them up and put them in a drawer until next use. It's true what others have said, that red food will leave stains, but I know they are clean, so I don't care. There is no scent transmission, from the wrap to the food or vice versa. One problem I have found (which is probably more a problem with my husband than this product) is that being opaque, you can't tell what is inside. So he had no idea we had leftover pizza (but, more for me!).Good quality and does what I expected. The downside is that there isn't a piece in this package big enough to wrap my homemade bread with. Its been a little over 6 mons now in using the abeego storage flats. In that time, I would have used at least one box of saran wrap.I find them easy to use and easy to clean.I cook fairly often and like to use them to cover up my bowls to store any leftovers.I dont like to use plastic containers or plastic tupperware unless I absolutely have to and use the abeegos to cover over glass or ceramic. My only complaint is that with often and long time use, I do feel the wax part may be coming off of the product and lessening the tight grip the abeegos initially had when I first started using them. I am not sure how long they are meant to last if one uses them often.Even w my minor complaint, I am very happy with this product and support initiatives to promote sustainability, recycling and reducing chemical body burden.I will prob order another set within the next 6 months or whenever this set has worn out its use.I love Abeego! A few years ago, I received it as a gift and used the heck out of all three pieces, for quite a while. Don't remember how long, but many months - maybe close to a year. I even washed it with warm water (not supposed to! It would have lasted even longer if I'd only used cold.).This time, I will wash with cold water and find out just how long the coating will last. So, I was skeptical about wrapping my 1/2 avocado. Figured I could not get the wrap to completely mold to the avocado and therefore keep it from oxidizing (browning). But I wrapped it as close as I could. There was definitely gap between the wrap and the avoc. Lo and behold- the next day, I unwrap the avocado to find it looking very green and fresh! Magic, I tell ya!Will I abandon all plastic wrap and ziplock bags? Not likely. But I love alternatives that help me minimize the waste. Abeego is the answer! You can't be too safe when it comes to food allergies and Abeego's food wraps are safe from gluten. I wrote to them inquiring about gluten contamination during production and I was pleased with their quick response and customer service. Below is their email to me; I am very happy with my wraps and supporting this company! Thanks Abeego!!"Thanks for reaching out! Happy to hear that you're interested in our wraps! Abeego is a great way to reduce your plastic use, and also get the full nutrients of the food you keep alive and save while using our wraps. We love questions! Our wraps are made in a dedicated facility where we only produce our beeswax wraps, and none of our materials contain gluten. Abeego is made of tree resin, jojoba oil, and beeswax infused onto a hemp and organic cotton fabric. Our Head of Operations' husband is celiac, and uses Abeego daily.Let us know if you have any further questions! The Abeego HiveKEEP FOOD ALIVE"I don't think these really answer the mail as far as saving the planet. Sure, they seal as advertised but not with the same amount of confidence, and the hot washings afterwards may or may not ensure the confident sanitation you want. I back to plastic wrap. This is the third brand of reusable beeswax food cover we've tried. This one doesn't work either. Does not stick to edges of glass or metal pans. Will bend and flex but then unfolds itself immediately. This was recommended to me by my cousin. I love it! Sooo much better than plastic wrap not just for hippie reasons but for $ reasons - seems expensive, but keeps food longer (we are a two person household, there's often half an onion, lemon, avocado) than plastic wrap or Tupperware.I was worried about taste crossover, but wrapped an onion for several days, washed and an hour of so later wrapped a lemon, no oniony taste at all.Ordered more of the small size -- love it.Edit -- picture of it on a salad bowl, used heat of my hands to have hold on to the edge but undressed prepped salad last sooo much longer, worth the 30 extra seconds warming it onThe picture is a four day avacado, I open each day and cut a chunk off for a shake. Just loosely rewrapped each time.By far one of my favorite amazon purchases. Wether you’re trying to save money long term, looking to cut down on single use plastics or most importantly, preserving your fruits and veggies. These are a must have. I love using them on all my veggies to keep them in ultimate fresh crisp shape days and days after. The beeswax scent is quite strong upon the first few uses but this aroma DOES NOT transfer to whatever was wrapped in them. The jumbo pack has recently been added to my next cart. What a beautiful natural product.I've been using those for the last 2 weeks. It seals quite well when reheated by the hands as mentioned by other clients. Definitely a good alternative to plastic foil. But it does smell quite strongly in my opinion, which isn't a dealbreaker as it's not bad. Though, it leaves a weird taste to the food like bread, biscuits or sandwiches - I did wrap this kind of food directly in these for my lunches and didn't appreciate the taste it leaves. I'm planning to wrap my sandwiches and bread in a coton fabric/towel prio to wrap in those which are waterproof and more occlusive. Hopefully it will protect the food from the taste.I haven't had any issue cleaning them under cold water- the wax hasn't peeled of or anything.I purchased these really wanting to make a change to not use so many plastic bags for lunch. For a single Mom these are expensive to have yet I was wanting to show my kid that changing can be beneficial. If you are using foods that have a colour example cut carrots they will stain the material. If you use mix nuts the residue will not come off this material and in the end makes this product useless to use over time. Mine lasted 45 days before it no longer would stick. I only cleaned it as per the instructions. Holding sandwiches, or cut drier type fruits seems to work fine. So overall would I get these again, no. I think there are other types of way to save the use of plastics for these types of storage.Wish everyone would upgrade their plastic ziplock drawer to only have these enviremantaly friendly sheets! They are great! I use them for everything with the peace of mind that unlike glad press and seal, they are all natural! You are actually saving money in the long run because they last a year. If you are using them for sandwiches or wraps I suggest not leaving them in the wrapping for more than a day as the beeswax can begin to alrer the flavor. If you are using them to cover bowls and dishes in your fridge, I haven’t found that to interfere with the flavor at all even after a few days. They are washable and I’m a fan of the product, this brand and the seller!
