Its a very attractive kitchen item that really is more for decoration then to hold a typical loaf of Wonder Bread. Small loaf of raisin bread fits in nicely.I doubt that its made of real birch bark, it looks like birch bark and some other materials to lend support, but from two feet away it looks great and I'm not complaining. Very happy with what I purchased.
